Providing a personal insight into managing the divorce process, "Divorce: Defined: Things a dad should know when he's thrown out of the house" (published by Archway Publishing) by Zachary Brooks sheds a light on the undertaking by helping men with children understand the various personal and legal challenges they might encounter.

"The only divorce cases that are in print are those of the rich and famous and are printed in the daily gossip magazines," Brooks says. "The divorce process the average dad faces is not something that the legal system of your commonwealth wants publicized."

When Brooks got thrown out of his house by his wife, he didn't know what to do; turning to the internet, he only found "legal jargon and condescending rhetoric" from lawyers, social workers and politicians on the divorce process. Wanting to offer help to men in similar situations, he offers guidance to fathers going through a divorce by sharing insight as to what could happen and how to manage the situation while developing a stronger relationship with their child or children.

Brooks introduces the idea that the targeted male side of divorce is brutalized saying, "There's a significant reality that the dad is subjected to a two-tiered legal system that is designed to fully support the opponent (ex-wife) and completely dismantle the dad both mentally and financially which ultimately encourages the surgical removal of his ability to provide the equal parenting specifically noted in a mutual agreement."
