Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) statistics reveal that one in five girls and one in 20 boys is a victim of child sexual abuse. As a survivor of child sexual abuse, author Lou Bishop emerges to share her experience. Written from a layman's point of view, not only does Bishop share her journey but she explores the issues and collateral damage caused by child sexual abuse "Lyah! Lyah! Pants on Fyah!" (published by Balboa Press in 2015). This book deconstructs the lies that often inhibit victims from living wholesome, fulfilling lives.

A self-proclaimed truth ambassador, Bishop guides readers along the path of healing and restoration. She uses her uniquely soulful voice to share stories from several female child sexual abuse survivors, including her own. These stories provide searing insight to the impact that child sexual abuse can have on the victim's self-esteem.

On a deeper level, this book attempts to explore the diverse manifestations of toxic shame. John Bradshaw once explained that, "Until one understands toxic shame and how shame is internalized, it moves from being a feeling to being a toxic state of being." Bishop emphasizes the particularly poisonous effect that child sexual abuse can have on the survivor's relationship with self and sexuality.

Enlightening, inspiring and empowering, "Lyah! Lyah! Pants on Fyah!" not only addresses child sexual abuse and toxic shame in some small measure but delineates empowering, spiritual tools for healing the inner child.
