WALDORF, Md. - Jerome Jacobs has wanted to become a doctor since he was a child, but the sudden death of his father leaves the family struggling to afford his medical school tuition. In order to help pay for his education, he moonlights as an exotic dancer. Sasha is a spoiled daddy's girl. As a birthday gift, her friends take her to a club; when Jerome performs, she finds herself drawn to him. They develop deep emotions, but her father's disapproval leaves Sasha facing an ultimatum that could destroy both of their hearts.

Bored with the amount of erotica about female strippers, author Yashalina Blair wrote "Dr. Romy's Dance" (published by Archway Publishing) to satisfy her longing for a role reversal in the archetype and to impart a meaningful message in the story.

"I want (readers) to be moved," Blair says. "I want them to feel passion and maybe the need for a cool shower. ... The big message however is perseverance, because there was nothing Jerome wouldn't do to fulfill his main two objectives; take care of his family, and not quit med school."

An excerpt from "Dr. Romy's Dance":
"Ladies, is anyone hot? Somebody need to call the doctor! No? Well before the night is over, someone will need a doctor . . . from a case of heart palpitations! Someone will need the doctor, of, love. Dr. Romy!"
