Author of The Egotist Releases New Book Tikkunim (Corrections) Jesse Bogner, the thirty-year old author of The Egotist, has released a new book called Tikkunim (Corrections), a collection of articles and essays to illustrate the broken and confusing nature of our society. By putting a mirror to the mess of contradictions that is modern life, his hope is that we will have a means of uniting what feels broken and divided. The book is intended for anyone who wants to disarm the bleakness of our current reality with new values.

From the Introduction

"After the publication of my first book, The Egotist, I began writing articles about politics and the spiritual roots of a world in crisis. A world of contradictions that reveals the flawed development of man using rational systems. These rational systems that cannot cope with an irrational world and the seemingly irrational nature of the creatures that inhabit it. It began as supplemental work to the novel I was working on, before becoming an obsession, a calling from above."

"Like everyone else, I was caught up in the oddest election cycle in American history. Unlike just about everyone else, I predicted Trump's victory four months before he was elected, without flinching when the New York Times only gave him an 8% chance on election night. I felt the vitriol of a nation torn apart that was tired of being lied to, passed over and forgotten by a small elite minority. I locked into this tenor of American life living 7000 miles away in Israel, reading everything I could get my hands on."

"The more I explored political tropes, the more my perception changed. Beginning my writings as one of the last vehemently pro-Israel leftists, it slowly became apparent to me that the Democratic Party like most of the left of center parties in Europe had degraded itself to the point that it had reversed nearly every position JFK and Martin Luther King would have fought for. It was clear that beneath the surface both parties were not at all what they purported to be, but the Democrats were the real wolves in sheep's clothing."

"I proclaimed myself a Republican after a lot of resistance to the political positions of my conservative-leaning spiritual teacher. His spiritual understanding of the world gave him opposite perception of reality that he sensed almost unconsciously, which I could only find to be the case through heavy embittered research. After Trump's election, everything became clear. Nothing was as it seemed."

"I used my highly rational mind as a tool to illustrate how the world was no longer rational. Though politics was the specter to look at the world's contradictory and destructive developments, I felt the source of all these troubles came from a spiritual source, a fundamental lack of connection between people."
