Adult Fantasy Author A. Wrighton Launches Campaign to Fund New Book, Promotes Indie Reads

Genre-bending author A. Wrighton challenges bookworms to abandon potato salad and bring more indie books to the public.

New adult fantasy author A. Wrighton, known for her genre-bending and witty take on indie authors, has launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign for her Dragonics & Runics book series to fund the completion of the fourth book and two fan-demanded prequels. IndieGoGo is the world's most-established crowdfunding platform and a popular crowdfunding medium for independent artists and authors looking to fund their visions while making changes in the world around them.

"I saw people jumping on board to fund a wacky concept of potato salad, and I thought, 'Lots of people love potato salad, but everyone loves a good book.' I figured that if people were willing to chip in to get delicious potato salad out there, they'd be willing to give up a few dollars here and there for a good book," A. Wrighton said. "The world needs more books - it needs more dragons - and what better way than through indie authors, like me?"

Contributors to the Dragonics & Runics Series #NeedMoreDragons IndieGoGo campaign can earn exclusive merchandise like faction pins, T-shirts, and maps that will make their official debut at Stan Lee's Comikaze 2014. Contributors will also receive public recognition with social media blasts and written dedications in forthcoming books.

Since the July release of Convergence: Dragonics & Runics Part III, A. Wrighton has also thrown the indie author world on its head by releasing an audiobook podcast of the third book for free saying that "People need to know indie authors' books shouldn't be written off as a fad or badly conceived storytelling."
