This one-night-only rehearsed reading is the world premiere of ‘First Night (of the One Day of the Year)’ by Brisbane playwright, Stephen Vagg (‘All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane’). Stephen takes us backstage to the 1960 first night of one of Australia’s most successful plays – Alan Seymour’s now celebrated work about post-war Australia, ‘The One Day of the Year’. But before the first night bouquets, the play was banned, and the defiant cast received bomb threats. You can find out what all the controversy was about at Ad Astra’s newest creative space, Cosmos. Meet the writer and cast in a post-show Q&A. Seats are limited – book now. Broadway World readers get a discount - just use the code BROAD at the checkout!
