Telemundo's 'El Señor de los Cielos' (Lord of the Skies) second season premiere reached 2,739,000 total viewers and 1,701,000 adults 18-49 on premiere night, according to Nielsen. Starring Rafael Amaya as Aurelio Casillas, the series averaged 2,187,000 total viewers and 1,390,000 adults 18-49. The much anticipated premiere ranked #1 among adults 18-49, regardless of language, in Miami and Phoenix and was the #1 Spanish-language program in its time period in San Francisco, in that same demo. Additionally, 'El Señor de los Cielos' ranked as the #1 most buzzed about series on a Hispanic Network and the #4 most buzzed about Drama series across all networks, regardless of language, according to Nielsen Social.

Benaroya Pictures has announced today that they are now on board to produce and finance director Olivier Assayas' IDOL'S EYE, with a confirmed cast that includes Robert Pattinson and Robert De Niro. Charles Gillibert developed and produced the project with CG Cinema, Bluegrass Films' Scott Stuber, Film 360's Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan and Michael Benaroya, with Ben Sachs executive producing for Benaroya Pictures. The film is scheduled to begin principal photography in October in Chicago and Toronto.

Last night's episode garnered 458,000 adults 18-34, a +40% jump over last week's premiere telecast. It also scored 699,000 adults 18-49, an increase of +11% over the premiere. Which film Edwards will tackle has yet to be announced, though many have speculated the planned spinoffs might follow Boba Fett, Yoda, or a young Han Solo. Disney and Lucasfilm have just announced that Godzilla director Gareth Edwards has been tapped to helm one of the upcoming STAR WARS spinoff films. Gary Whitta will pen the untitled project's script. The studio has already confirmed three are in development, alongside J.J. Abrams' upcoming 'EPISODE VII.'
