On Tuesday, October 13 the Red Cedar Grill will hold a special event to benefit the Williamston Theatre. During the evening, customers will be treated to the talents of local singer/songwriter Ed Groves as well as a host of acts performed by regular actors on the Williamston Theatre stage. WMMQ's Deb Hart will be the Celebrity Host of the event. The restaurant will donate 20% of all proceeds for the evening to the Williamston Theatre, mid-Michigan's newest professional, not-for-profit, live theatre.

Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional theatre located in Raleigh, North Carolina, will conclude the second "Sunday Afternoon Music Series" with a concert of the ensemble "ELM collective". The concert will take place in the newly renovated Meymandi Theater at the Murphey School Auditorium in 224 Polk Street in downtown Raleigh on Sunday, October 11 at 7pm. Following the success of last year's Main Street/Fayetteville Street, Burning Coal is excited to announce our next collaboration with Raleigh City Museum, Fayetteville Street Follies. The production, with a script by Oakwood writer Ian Finley, and featuring actors from Burning Coal Theatre Company, will visit several sites along Fayetteville Street to bring to life the stories of Raleigh's hooligans, heroes, crooks and cowards.

Portland Center Stage invites you meet one of America's unlikeliest Ben Franklin scholars, monologist and fringe theater performer Josh Kornbluth, as he loses some hair and gains a fresh perspective on the costs of independence, the meaning of revolution and the vagaries of Founding Fatherhood in Ben Franklin: Unplugged. Ben Franklin: Unplugged previews on Tuesday September 29th, opens on Friday, October 2nd and runs through November 22, 2009. Tickets start at $24, with student and under 30 discounts available. GayComedy is set to present The Audacity of Nope!. The show is written by and featuring Jim Bennett, directed by Sean Cusick, musically directed by Jeffrey Bouthiette, and features Andy Eninger, Kelly Yacono, Vincent Kracht, Kathy Betts, John Loos, and Michelle Marquardt.

Lamb's Players Theatre is closing its 2009 Season with Tim Slover's historical drama, Joyful Noise. Directed by Robert Smyth and Deborah Gilmour Smyth, the show will play October 9 - November 22.

Yvonne Seggerman, Executive Director of The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre, is pleased to announce the hiring of Jessica Hill as the non-profit theater's first general manager, as well as the promotion of former Development Associate Brian Platt to development manager, also a newly created position. The combined hiring and promotion within the professional non-profit theater's staff is expected to help manage the company's consistent growth and new opportunities.

Village Players Theater is proud to announce two new Educational Opportunities housed under the Village Players Training Center: Village Players Youth Training Center and Village Players Professional Training Center. This fall the Village Players Professional Training Center will be offering Weekend Intensive Workshops at Village Players Performing Arts Center on Sundays in November and December from 9am-2pm for Adults. There will also be accompanying Weekend Intensive Workshops for Teens offered through the Village Players Youth Training Center in 'Mastering the Audition Process' and 'Off of the Page and Onto the Stage: A Shakespeare Intensive'. Cost is $75 per Adult Intensive; $50 per Teen Intensive.

Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific, directed by Bartlett Sher, will premiere in Chicago coming in November at the Rosemont Theatre. Based on James Michener's Pulitzer Prize winning book Tales of the South Pacific, Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific swept the 2008 Tony Awards®, winning seven honors including Best Musical Revival and Best Director for Bartlett Sher.
