Fingerstyle singer-songwriter Zak Trojano will release Wolf Trees on August 10, nine songs that call attention to the thin rapidity of modern life. The Rusty Belle co-founder's third album looks forward as much as it looks back and today, he debuts the title track courtesy of The Bluegrass Situation. 'Wolf Trees' is a reconciliation of dreams with reality that holds the listener through the trials of finding an anchor in the world (How could I begin to tell you how/easy it would be to find a place for now/in the soft light of the almost dark/where the wolf trees howl through the park for you).

Australia's greatest cult band, The Necks, has a new piece to offer the world this summer, entitled “Body”. The epic robot-fighting series BattleBots returns with even higher stakes for the second half of its 2018 season as momentum builds towards the 2018 World Championship and the awarding of the Giant Nut to the ultimate BattleBots Champion. As part two of the season commences, some bots are already on the brink of elimination, including several fan favorites. In order to give them a last chance at qualifying for the championship, BattleBotsis staging its first ever 'Desperado' Tournament, where 8 teams will be given the chance to win one guaranteed place in the final 16 qualifiers. Acclaimed American rock band Blackberry Smoke will release The Southern Ground Sessions EP on October 26. Created as an accompaniment to their acclaimed new album, Find A Light, the 6-song EP was recorded live at Southern Ground studio in Nashville, TN and features acoustic versions of five album tracks as well as a rendition of Tom Petty's “You Got Lucky” featuring Amanda Shires. This week, Jean-Michel Blais' acclaimed album, Dans ma main, was short-listed for the prestigious Polaris Music Prize. One of 10 finalists selected by a jury of Canadian music journalists, the winner will be announced at the gala on September 17. “So proud Dans ma main made the Polaris Music Prize short-list,” says Blais. “Congrats and thanks to my team, fans, and of course the people who voted for it.”
