Singer/songwriter DANIEL KIRKLEY will make his New York debut and perform two acoustic sets as part of the new "Landmark Wednesdays" series of concerts at the historic SideWalk Cafe in the East Village on Wednesday, December 12, at 8 and 10pm. These two very special shows will celebrate Kirkley's new holiday album, "Love Is Christmas," which blends secular and sacred music.

Celebrating the beginning of the Christmas season, the Houston Symphony led by Associate Conductor Robert Franz invites families to experience the Hip Hoppin' Nutcracker on December 8th. A new take on an age-old holiday tradition, the program will feature the fun and explosive dance routines of Westside High School's INERTIA Dance Company and a visit from Old Saint Nick himself. The program will close with an audience sing-along of classic holiday favorites including a performance of several spirited versions of "Sleigh Ride."

THE CHRISTMAS SCHOONER returns to the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport, Chicago), from November 23 through December 30, 2012. The press opening will be on Thursday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. and includes a tribute to the late Julie Shannon, who wrote the music and lyrics of the beloved musical.

Arts Community of Easton presents An Evening of Honoring the Arts, Sunday, December 6, 5 PM, at the Bank Street Annex, downtown Easton. The beautiful crafts on display at the McLean Community Center's 30th Annual McLean Holiday Crafts Show are only part of what's made the show a success for many years. The juried show will be held Friday, Nov. 30 through Sunday, Dec. 2. Show hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec.1; and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2. Following last year's hit production, Fine Print's 'Christmas in Chicago' returns to Chicago Dramatists with a whole new show to wrap up 2012.

Famed novelist and screenwriter Elmore Leonard will visit Oakland University for an evening of stories and discussion on Wednesday, Nov. 28. Leonard will be joined by his son, Peter - also a novelist - for an entertaining look at 'The Family Business,' which includes all the novels, screenplays and television scripts they have written and their experiences with Hollywood.

Schola Cantorum on Hudson, the renowned 35-voice mixed choral ensemble, will perform the Christmas portion of George Frideric Handel's legendary oratorio, Messiah, followed by a carol sing, all with baroque instrumentalists, on Sunday, December 9 and Saturday, December 15.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and 104 students from the Howard County Gifted and Talented Orchestra will play Side-by Side in a concert led by Maestro Shizuo Kuwahara on February 20, 2013 at 7:30 pm at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. This new partnership will commence in a special concert featuring works by Elgar, John Adams and Mahler. The 41st annual Heida Hermanns International Voice Competition, a two-day event presented by the Connecticut Alliance for Music (CAM) with the support of the Westport Arts Center, will bring together young musicians from around the world at Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, Westport, on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2.
