The Theatre Project is proud to announce Cold Reads, an Off-Broadway, new play development lab premiering at The Players Theatre this February. Cold Reads has been created to develop and promote contemporary Off-Broadway productions.

Violinist Jennifer Koh returns to the 92nd Street Y's Kaufmann Concert Hall on Saturday, March 2 at 8:00 p.m. to present part two of her acclaimed Bach and Beyond three recital series that pairs Bach's six Sonatas and Partitas with contemporary works. For this recital, Bach's Sonata No. 1 in G minor, BWV 1001 and Partita No. 1 in B minor, BWV 1002 will be juxtaposed with Bartók's Sonata and the New York premiere of Phil Kline's Partita for Solo Violin, which is a 92nd Street Y co-commission. The Kline Partita received its world premiere at The Royal Conservatory in Toronto in November 2012. This is Ms. Koh's second Bach and Beyond performance at the 92nd Street Y. The first recital in the series took place in January 2011, with the third and final recital in the series to be performed in the 2014/15 season.

Manhattan Theatre Club has announced a one week extension for THE MADRID, the world premiere play by Liz Flahive (From Up Here, "Nurse Jackie"), directed by Leigh Silverman (In The Wake, Chinglish). Tickets for THE MADRID are now on sale through Sunday, April 21 with previews beginning Tuesday, February 5 for a Tuesday, February 26 opening at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

The Palace Theatre has announced it is a recipient of a $10,000 grant award from the Arthur Getz Charitable Trust that will contribute to the expense of re-rigging and upgrading the fly system. The Arthur Getz Charitable Trust, located in Manchester,NH, was created for special projects for tax exempt organizations. The latest gift to the Palace Theatre Trust will be used to support improvements to the fly system. Fly systems are fundamental for theatrical productions as they are used to raise and lower items on and off the stage. When the theatre opened nearly one hundred years ago, the manual counterweight fly system was the state-of-the art. The original fly system is still being used and for the safety of actors and staff, must be re-rigged to ensure its structural integrity.

NEEDTOBREATHE, who are currently in the studio working on their new album, will hit the road and give fans a chance to hear new songs for the first time in a live setting. The "Drive All Night Tour 2013" will be the band's only North American headline tour this year and will begin on April 2 in Memphis, TN at The Orpheum Theatre. The performance starts at 8:30 PM.

America's premier Irish folk ensemble, Solas, returns to The Barns at Wolf Trap after a six-year hiatus. Pending release in 2013 is their highly anticipated part-album, part-film Shamrock City, which uses audio and visual artistry to narrate the life of a young Irish immigrant as he makes his way in the United States during the Industrial Revolution. Derived from the experiences of band leader Seamus Egan's great-great uncle, Shamrock City captures the spirit of struggling immigrants striving to make a better life. Formed in 1994, Solas launched its career by playing in Irish pubs around New York City. Since then, the group has emerged as an Irish-American sensation and has released an astounding 10 records, featuring a fusion of Celtic classics and modern melodies. Spearheaded by group founders Seamus Egan and Winifred Horan, Solas combines varied instrumentation that includes guitars, violins, flute, tenor banjo, mandolin, accordions, concertina, bodhran, and more.

Beginning this Friday, January 25th, Jeffrey Kuhn will assume the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter's nemesis, Dr. Chilton, in Off-Broadway's smash hit SILENCE! The Musical. Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run December 30th, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records held by the show. As a result, the producers determined that the smash hit show would reopen on January 19th. After opening at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre which was constructed especially for the show.

Water is the essential molecule which gives life as we know it the ability to flourish. An unstoppable yet graceful force, it is the inspiration behind Motionhouse: Scattered. The dance troupe will hit the stage at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on January 29, 2013, with a monsoon of beautiful movement and dance. The troupe incorporates a large curved wall, similar to that of a skateboarding "Halfpipe," into their performance.

Columbia Stages is proud to present THE CORSAIR, inspired by "The Corsair" by Lord Byron and conceived and directed by Katie Naka (MFA Directing Candidate, 2013). THE CORSAIR will run February 13-16, 2013 at 3LD as part of the Columbia Stages season, comprised of MFA thesis plays directed by graduating Columbia University School of the Arts students.

Macbeth, Jamie Lloyd's inaugural production in a season of work for Trafalgar Transformed, will be staged at Trafalgar Studios from 9 February until 27 April, with press night on 22 February 2013. Design for Jamie Lloyd's season is by Soutra Gilmour, who won the 2012 Evening Standard Award for Best Design for Inadmissible Evidence at the Donmar Warehouse, directed by Lloyd, and Antigone at the National Theatre.

Blueprint Theater Project, Co-Founders/Artistic Directors Kevin Connell and Ellen Orenstein, present the World-Premiere of THE HUMAN VARIATIONS, an immersive, site-specific theatrical symphony that explores human interaction in our age of cyber intimacy.
