The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, together with Riviera South Beach hotel, Alan Lieberman and Nathan Lieberman, present the fifth annual MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL, featuring for 2013 a weeklong showcase of new works-in-progress created and performed by a roster of Miami-based artists across multiple disciplines, all of whom have previously collaborated with the Arsht Center. MIAMI MADE FESTIVAL 2013 will take place from February 26 to March 3 and includes staged play readings and a dance showcase on-site in the Carnival Studio Theater, as well as pop-up performances at the soon-to-be-opened hotel, Riviera South Beach.

The highly-respected students of Pacific Symphony Youth Wind Ensemble (PSYWE) have the rare first-time experience of performing with the magnificent 4,322 pipes of the William J. Gillespie Concert Organ in the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall for their "Spring Concert." Composed for wind ensemble, soprano soloist and organ, Frank Ticheli's "Angels in the Architecture" becomes the centerpiece of the program and features 11-year-old vocalist Max Uehara and organist Kristen Lawrence. Inspired by the Sydney Opera House where it premiered, the piece explores the forces of the divine and evil on humanity. Led by Music Director Joshua Roach, PSYWE's second concert of the season takes place Sunday, March 3, at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 each, general admission. The award-winning theater company Maurer Productions OnStage (MPO) will present the irreverent and hilarious adult musical comedy "Avenue Q" at Mercer County Community College's Kelsey Theatre. Dates and times are Fridays, March 1 and 8 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, March 2 and 9 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, March 3 and 10 at 2 p.m. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening night performance on March 1.

Driven by the belief that what was traditional in 429 BC is radical today, FRTC performs Oedipus the King exactly as Sophocles intended… sort of. Men play all of the roles (including Love Interest/Mom Jocasta) just as the Greeks would have wanted it; only with Faux-Real, the role of Oedipus is played by a woman. Searching beyond the Freudian notions of "boy loves Mom," Faux-Real re-examines Oedipus with modern eyes (pun intended) and ancient techniques, to shed new light on this classic tale of sex, power, murder and the dark urges lurking inside of us all.

MARIE CHRISTINE will run March 6-9, 2013 at 3LD as part of the Columbia Stages season, comprised of MFA thesis plays directed by graduating Columbia University School of the Arts students.

Red, a drama Josh Logan, will open at the State Theatre in downtown Eustis on February 21 and run through February 24. Called "a visceral exercise in art appreciation" by the New York Times, Red tells the story of artist Mark Rothko, and his commission in 1958 to paint a series of murals for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York. The play explores the heart of a controversial artist and the compromises that must sometimes be made between art and the need to survive. This production features long-time friends and collaborators Terrence Shank and Joel Warren.

At the invitation of the festival's artistic team, Abingdon will present its upcoming Off-Broadway production, THE LAST WILL by Robert Brustein, who has been named the festival's honorary chairman.

Gary Valentine got his start in show business on the stand up comedy stage. After an appearance at the Montreal Comedy Festival, he left his native New York for heavier traffic in Los Angeles. There, he quickly landed spots on various talk shows including, "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno", among others. He's been headlining comedy clubs and theaters for the past fifteen years.

Following a record-breaking 35th Season, Shakespeare & Company Artistic Director Tony Simotes is pleased to announce the 2013 summer lineup of plays that will take place in the Tina Packer Playhouse and the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre, including a number of special events that will underscore those productions. Northern Ballet's new full length production, The Great Gatsby, will be performed at the Lyceum Theatre, Sheffield from Tuesday 12 - Saturday 16 March. With choreography, direction and costumes by Artistic Director David Nixon OBE, co-direction by Patricia Doyle and sets by Jerome Kaplan, the production promises to be a stunning retelling of one of the most compelling stories of the twentieth century.
