On 27 October, 1972 the Arnold Schoenberg Chor was born. The choir is celebrating this anniversary with a four-part spectacular at the Theater an der Wien.
Four of the soirée’s highlights can already be revealed:
For the opening, the motet for double choir Singet dem Herrn ein neues Lied by J.S. Bach, followed by a little Schubert recital. Then, as a contrast, Hugo Distler’s Totentanz and to conclude Arnold Schoenberg’s Friede auf Erden (Peace on Earth).
A unique vocal marathon to mark the choir’s 40th anniversary.
