CONGRESS is a large-scale civic performance created by All The Queens Men, presented as part of Melbourne Fringe. Everyday citizens write and deliver their own first speech to the nation, imagining the future they want to see, each paired with a leading writer including Maxine Beneba Clarke and Willoh Weiland. Staged with full choreography, music and movement in a public square, the work reveals the richness, complexity and diversity of contemporary Australia. Speakers include Uncle Charles Pakana, Geoffrey Lim, River Gammon, Tina Hosseini, Anna Pidgeon, Tony and Francesco Cattafi, Nicolette Forte, and Vera Kipp-Murray.
