The Travelling Sisters Come to The Butterfly Club
The Travelling Sisters finish off a colossal year on the road, bringing it home to Melbourne's much loved The Butterfly Club.
This Melbourne based multi-award winning comedy sketch trio have driven full force through 2018 with their show Toupé. Seen by crowds at Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, sold out seasons at Brisbane Comedy Festival and New Zealand Fringe Festival, and finally Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The Travelling Sisters are bringing the love back home with their final show to top off the year.
Combining physical comedy, contemporary clown and original music, the show begins with their humble beginnings as budding thespians in Regional Queensland and launches into a multitude of hilarious, absurd and frighteningly realistic characters. Throw in killer harmonies, more wigs and costumes than ever before with a touch of the surreal, and this infectious trio conjure up twists and turns you won't see coming.
Meet a tap dancing cactus desperate for love, a giant diva with a dental malfunction, and three Aussie lollipop ladies that show us life ain't over when the kids move out...it's only just begun! From stripping down to your undies in front of strangers after yoga, to accidentally finding yourself at an orgy, The Travelling Sisters find the ridiculousness in everyday life.
Gaulier-trained Brisbane friends Lucy Fox, Laura Trenerry and Ell Sachs have taken Australia by storm, fast becoming a household name. They have been featured on ABC TV and at gala events across the country and internationally.
True to their name, the Sisters played their first gig at a hair salon in Brisbane in 2013 and have since clocked up masses of miles touring to Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London, Berlin, Prague Fringe Festival, Bedford Fringe Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Bath Comedy Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, and Clockenflap Festival Hong Kong.
