Equal parts glamorous cabaret, debauched dive bar and raucous Tom Waits tribute, The Glitter & Doom Salon is a live performance like no other. The hottest new late night variety night to hit the international Fringe festival circuit, the Salon showcases the Fringe's most enigmatic cabaret stars and oddball vaudeville artists performing their best glitter-filled and doom-inspired material, alongside performances of Tom Waits classics by show emcee, the 'dark, dazzling formidable powerhouse' (Herald Sun) Jennifer Kingwell.

Fresh from a European debut season at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where the show was described by audiences as "the hot, slightly androgynous, dark and intensely alluring new kid on the block when it comes to cabaret", Kingwell brings together her dual passion for the subversive opulence of cabaret and the surreally carnivalesque world of Tom Waits. Inspired by the title of Tom Waits' last live album, The Glitter & Doom Salon delves into the essence of cabaret artistry: the interplay of glamour and tragedy. It equally serves as a heartfelt homage to the music of Waits himself, an artist beloved by the contemporary cabaret scene and one of the all-time great songwriters of the skeezy dive bar/theatre circuit.

The Glitter & Doom Salon is presented by Melbourne-based performer and PBS FM broadcaster, Jennifer Kingwell. With critically acclaimed Edinburgh, Adelaide and Melbourne Fringe seasons under her belt, Kingwell has handpicked the best that the Fringe has to offer from the worlds of cabaret, comedy, music, burlesque and circus/sideshow performance, drawing upon her love of showcasing underground talent as a radio broadcaster as well as her diehard fandom of Tom Waits, to present an evening of breathtaking variety, spontaneity and devilish charm.

A place to see and be seen. A place to discover and be lost. A place to die and be reborn. Welcome to The Glitter & Doom Salon, featuring the cream of Edinburgh Fringe's cabaret/comedy/burlesque/sideshow artists, hosted by performer and broadcaster Jennifer Kingwell.
