SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE's Michael Che to Tour Australia in 2018

U.S. writer, actor and comedian Michael Che from Saturday Night Live will tour Australia in 2018.

Che, who co-anchors SNL's iconic "Weekend Update" segment and is also a staff writer on the show, will take MICHAEL CHE LIVE around the country to Perth, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, commencing Saturday April 21.

Tickets for all shows go on sale at 10am AEDT on Friday, December 1.

Che has been included on such hit-lists as Rolling Stone Magazine's "50 Funniest People," Buzzfeed's "50 Hottest Men in Comedy," and Variety's "Top 10 Comics To Watch". A native of New York City, Che's comedy uses humor to identify humanity in the most controversial actions. He applies street culture to world issues.

In 2016, Che released his first hour-long stand-up special Michael Che Matters on Netflix. This followed his first special on Comedy Central's The Half-Hour stand-up series in 2014. Prior to joining SNL, Che was part of "The Best F*&#ing News Team Ever!" as a correspondent on Comedy Central's Emmy & Peabody Award-winning program The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In February 2014, he became the first-ever stand up comic to perform on NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, which marked his second late night appearance following his 2012 late night television debut on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman.

Che's other television and film appearances are numerous and include Chris Rock's Top Five, Comedy Central's hit series @midnight, and VH1's Best Week Ever. In 2013 he headlined a successful month-long run of his live show Cartoon Violence at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and has performed at both the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, as well as the invite-only Just For Laughs in Montreal.
