Queensland Performing Arts Centre Choir Presents True Colors, 6/18

On Tuesday 18 June, the QPAC Choir will present its first major public performance for 2013 - True Colours in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre's (QPAC's) Concert Hall.

The QPAC Choir is one of Queensland's largest community choirs and since forming in 2008 has performed regularly at QPAC.

Now boasting around 140 members with auditions held annually, the QPAC Choir has grown from year to year. A significant group within the Brisbane musical community the Choir is managed as part of QPAC's artistic program.

Under the direction of Chorusmaster, Tim Sherlock, the QPAC Choir will present an evening of uplifting choral music featuring a diverse and eclectic repertoire, including choral favourites from John Rutter and Zoltan Kodaly.

The concert program will also showcase exciting choral arrangements of songs by The Carpenters, Cyndi Lauper, and the Mamas and the Papas.

Joining the QPAC Choir will be special guest artists, including the vibrant new percussion group Percussimo, musicians from theQueensland Youth Orchestra and singers from the Young Conservatorium Vocal Ensemble.

QPAC Chief Executive John Kotzas says the Choir's showcase concert is something QPAC looks forward to presenting each year.

"Each year the QPAC Choir brings together a local community of people who love to sing. Our Choir is made up of performers from diverse backgrounds and this comes through in the music they create.

"This showcase concert lets the QPAC Choir shine. We welcome our special guest artists for True Colours and under Tim Sherlock's lead audiences of all ages will have the opportunity to share the experience," Mr Kotzas said.
