JERSEY BOYS to Perform Medley at Australia Open Final, 1/31

The cast of the Australian production of JERSEY BOYS will perform a special medley of their show at the Men's Final of the Australian Open at Rod Laver Arena on January 31.

Jersey Boys is the story of how four boys from the wrong side of the tracks became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi - the Four Seasons - wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty. Jersey Boys features their hit songs "Sherry", "Big Girls Don't Cry", "Rag Doll", "Oh What a Night" and "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You", among others.

Jersey Boys is the winner of four 2006 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Other Tony Awards include Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical, Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and Best Lighting Design of a Musical. Drama Desk Awards for 2006 include Outstanding Actor in a Musical and Outstanding Sound Design. Outer Critics Circle Awards for 2006 include Outstanding Broadway Musical, Outstanding Actor in a Musical and Outstanding Lighting Design. Jersey Boys also received the 2006 Drama League Award for Distinguished Production of a Musical.

The Original Cast Recording of Jersey Boys won the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album and in its award winning week topped the Billboard Album charts.

"Jersey Boys - The story of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons," written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, choreography by Sergio Trujillo and directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, first debuted at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2004 and was the most successful production in the history of the company, extending three times.

Jersey Boys officially opened on Broadway to critical acclaim at the August Wilson Theatre on 6 November 2005. Since opening, Jersey Boys has played to over 2.4million people, dominating at the box office, regularly grossing $1.2m per week in New York and breaking box office records throughout the USA.
