The once famous writer, who has retreated from the world, is a constant source of intrigue - how to unlock the mystery of one who has turned their back on fame and fortune? In Reg Cribb's gothic play, a star studded cast takes us into the world of the poet, (John Wood) shielded from mysterious past events by his daughter (Marcella Russo). Gallery: Between the Lines
Contemporary Chinese Paper Art
Until Saturday 11 June

The astonishing paper cutting skills of contemporary Chinese artists are on display until Saturday June 12th. Eight artists from different regions demonstrate the widest variety of this popular folk art form, which has a long history in China.

Created using scissors or knives, images range from simple, but totally charming depictions of country life in black and white, to the extraordinary multi coloured complexity of a work entitled One Hundred Roosters Wishing Wealth - certain to bring good luck! This is work that reminds us of the infinite variety of this huge country and its many different peoples. The exhibition is proving very popular, not least because of the reasonable prices - most of the framed works range from $200 to $500.
Coming up in the Gallery: Heartlands
Multicultural Arts Victoria Refugee Art Prize 2011
Wednesday 15 - Saturday 25 June

Multicultural Arts Victoria and AMES are again collaborating on the Heartlands Refugee Fine Art Prize 2011.

The exhibition will be celebrating the creative talent of refugee artists who have arrived in Australia since 1970. All short-listed works for the prize pool of over $15,000 will be shown during the exhibition.

The theme of Heartlands is of the dreams and hopes that refugees bring with them to Australia. They are dreams of security, of love and friendship, of belonging, which we all share.
Call for entries: Artists, curators and galleries are invited to submit proposals for 2 and 4 week exhibition projects for the first half in 2012. Proposals accepted 10 August 2011.

For more information please look on the website.
