SUPER CHIX
The All-Female Rock Opera
Friday, February 1 at 8:00 pm
Tickets: $20

The debut performance/reading of an original all-female rock opera, featuring 24 original cutting edge songs and a cast of all-star NYC rockers: Kacie Sheik (We Will Rock You), Lourds Lane (LOURDS), Melanie Krahmer (Sirsy), Militia (Swear on Your Life, Van Helsing's Curse/ FUSE), Lisa McQuade (Van Helsing's Curse), Anastacia McLeskey (Tarzan, Hairspray), Meg Wolf (New York Nostars), Jennifer Arroyo (Suicide City, ex- "Kittie"), Denny Colt (Tang, Van Helsing's Curse), Sarah Vasil (LOURDS) and Alexa Khan.

Written and composed by Lourds Lane and directed by DJ Salisbury, Super Chix chronicles the journey of one self-effacing young woman as she struggles to get out of an abusive relationship and grow to love herself.

An evening of riveting rock and roll divas, over-the top guitar and bass solos, thundering drum core sections, electric violin insanity, and songs that you will instantly walk away singing.

THE WAU WAU SISTERS
Good Girls go places. Bad Girls go  . . . Everywhere!
Saturday, February 2 at 8:30 pm
Tickets: $20

Join the Wau Wau Sisters, the only two-girl circus in the world, as they return home from their world travels to NYC and The Zipper, ready to teach the audience their own meaning of the term "foreign relations!"  Spreading the love  (that knows No Boundaries), the Sisters will regale with tawdry tales from P-town to Portugal, London to LaChapelle . . . from Feasting Down Under to Cruising Up the "Mexican Riviera" (with 1,800 lesbians).  After performing for "Queens" the world over, the girls recently capped it off with a "Royal Flush" in England's famed tabloids!

Challenging the state of reverence and preciousness of the Cirque du Soleil aesthetic, the Wau Wau Sisters carve out a new niche for circus events – right in front of you - so close you can see the sinew of their muscles, the sweat on their skin . . . and the tear in their fishnets! A sly mix of jaw dropping physical prowess and guileless mayhem, the show starts at a break-neck pace and gets wilder from there!

If you like your girls strong and your cocktails stronger, pull up a (car) seat, order a drink and behold as the Wau Wau Sisters, New York's bravest and bawdiest burlesque darlings, share more than you bargained for in their first show stateside since last summer.   In one festive, freewheeling hour they will prove that love and liquor can unite nations and bring peace and love - if not forever, at least for one night!

Saturday, February 9
Doors at 8:00 pm / Show at 9:00 pm

The Sex Workers' Art Show is an eye-popping evening of visual and performance art created by people who work in the sex industry to dispel the myth that they are anything short of artists, innovators, and geniuses! The wildly successful cabaret-style show is hitting the road again, bringing audiences a blend of spoken word, music, drag, burlesque, and multimedia performance art. Intelligent and hot, disturbing and hilarious, the performances offer a wide range of perspectives on sex work, from celebration of prostitutes' rights and sex- positivity, to views from the darker sides of the industry.

This year's incredible lineup of performers includes international burlesque sensation and recipient of the "Best Body in Burlesque" award, Miss Dirty Martini; infamous feminist author of I Love Dick Chris Kraus; award-winning author of the coming-out memoir How I Learned to Snap, Kirk Read; porn star and writer Lorelei Lee; performance artist and comic queen of cleavage The World Famous *BOB*; performer and musical theatre mutineer Erin Markey; internationally infamous drag-subverter Krylon Superstar; dominatrix and destroyer of Asian feminine mythology Keva I. Lee; and tour founder and director Annie Oakley. Special NYC guest: Julie Atlas Muz!

The show includes people from all areas of the sex industry: strippers, prostitutes, dommes, film stars, phone sex operators, internet models, etc.  It smashes traditional stereotypes and moves beyond "positive" and "negative" into a fuller articulation of the complicated ways sex workers experience their jobs and their lives.  The  Sex Workers'  Art Show  entertains,  arouses,  and amazes while simultaneously offering  scathing  and   insightful  commentary  on notions  of  class, race, gender, labor and sexuality!

Also available at the show - the new anthology of sex worker writings, Working Sex: Sex Workers Write About a Changing Industry (Seal Press), edited by Annie Oakley.
