The annual Broadway Coat Drive will kick off today, November 29th. Since 2010, children performing in Broadway shows have been bringing the Broadway community together for Good Morning America's Warm Coats and Warm Hearts.

"I am excited, once again, to be involved with the Broadway Coat Drive and continue engaging in charitable outreach programs for those in need," said Mary Stewart Sullivan. Mary has been a part of the Broadway community since she made her Broadway debut in Enron. Mary is one of seven Broadway Coat Drive ambassadors serving the Broadway community this holiday season.

Eden Ducan-Smith, who performed on Broadway in the hit show, The Lion King, is also serving as an ambassador. Eden thinks it's very important for the children of the Broadway community to come together: "As actors, we work in a world of make-believe; bringing to life on the stage the dreams and fantasies of thousands of kids. But despite our jobs, we also live the real world that calls us to do our part to help those in need. Poverty, being cold, hungry, being homeless prohibits kids - and adults - from enjoying the basic needs that we often take for granted. Our coat drive is a small effort that we can make to address these needs."

The Broadway Coat Drive began in 2010 by Tammie Cumming. Tammie's dream is to formalize an organization to mobilize the Broadway community to develop educational programming for young Broadway actors, engage in philanthropic outreach, and coordinate efforts to achieve the Global Goals.
