Patti LuPone is headed to Cartoon Network! The co-executive producer of the series STEVEN UNIVERSE took to Twitter today to announce that Broadway royalty LuPone will be lending her voice to a character in the animated show.

No word on the episode in which her voice will be heard, nor whether 'Yellow Diamond' will be a recurring figure on the show. BWW will bring you news as we learn more!

Patti LuPone will appear in WAR PAINT at Chicago's Goodman Theatre this summer. She most recently starred in Douglas Carter Beane's SHOWS FOR DAYS, directed by Jerry Zaks, at Lincoln Center Theater. Among the Tony winner's many Broadway credits are THE ANARCHIST, AN EVENING WITH PATTI LUPONE AND MANDY PATINKIN, WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, GYPSY, SWEENEY TODD, NOISES OFF, MASTER CLASS, PATTI LUPONE ON BROADWAY, COMPANY, ANYTHING GOES, OLIVER!, EVITA and more. She has also appeared on the small screen in PENNY DREADFUL, GIRLS, AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN, UGLY BETTY, WILL & GRACE, FRASIER, LAW & ORDER and more.

About STEVEN UNIVERSE: Believe in Steven! Steven Universe is a half-human, half-Gem hero who's learning to save the world with the magical powers that come from his bellybutton. Steven may not be as powerful as the Crystal Gems. Or as smart. But that doesn't stop him from joining Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl on their magical adventures -- where Steven always finds a surprising way to save the day.
