The Civilians to Bring LET ME ASCERTAIN YOU: ANARCHY! to Joe's Pub

The Civilians, the award-winning New York-based theater company, presents LET ME ASCERTAIN YOU: ANARCHY! on April 7, 2016, at Joe's Pub.

LET ME ASCERTAIN YOU: ANARCHY! is curated by current Civilians' R&D Group members EllaRose Chary, Jay Stull and Jordan Mahome with the support of the Civilians' Field Research Team.

This one-night-only performance explores everything you think you know, but nothing you'd expect about anarchist movements. The evening will feature original songs written by established and emerging musical theater talents, created from the company's interviews with real people.

Featured composers include: The Bengsons; EllaRose Chary and Brandon James Gwinn; Maggie-Kate Coleman and Erato A. Kremmyda; Michael R. Jackson; and Benjamin Velez.

Performers include The Bengsons, Cindy Cheung, Jordan Mahome, Jeanine Serralles, and more to be announced.

LET ME ASCERTAIN YOU is the Civilians' ongoing cabaret and podcast series. Live performances are recorded and released online as a free podcast on iTunes and SoundCloud.

Joe's Pub seating is communal, which means you may have other guests at your table. Please note there is a $12 food minimum or two-drink minimum per person. As a courtesy to the artists, we recommend arriving no later than thirty minutes before show time. Reservations are now made when tickets are purchased. It is no longer necessary to call Joe's Pub for reservations. Seating for each show begins when doors open for that performance.

Led by Artistic Director Steve Cosson, the Civilians supports the creation of new theater from creative investigations into the most vital questions of the present. Recent credits include Rimbaud in New York, Another Word for Beauty, Pretty Filthy, Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play and The Great Immensity. Last season, the company was the first ever theater company in residence at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
