Tonight, April 16, 2012, Symphony Space presents its third annual Access to the Arts Awards to Morley Safer for his arts reportage on CBS' 60 Minutes, international corporate lawyer Alain Coblence for his support of the arts and programs that encourage international cultural exchange, and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt for their generous ongoing support of our Selected Shorts series.

The evening is hosted by Tony Award-winner Tamara Tunie and jazz vocalist Gregory Generet. Proceeds from the Gala provide crucial support for Symphony Space's performing arts and education programs. This year, the Gala is co-chaired by Tom and Janet Allon, and Steven and Sheila Aresty.

Event highlights include performances and presentations by IMG Chairman Charles Hamlen, pianist Anne-Marie McDermott, violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and Symphony Space Founding Artistic Director and Selected Shorts host Isaiah Sheffer. The event also includes a silent and live auction, featuring unforgettable experiences donated by Symphony Space friends including David Sedaris, Jacques Torres, Stephen Sondheim, Brian Selznick, John Lithgow, Stephen Colbert, Arturo O'Farrill, Daniel Boulud, and Jean-Claude Baker and insider access to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, ABC's The Chew, 60 Minutes and CBS News, The Good Wife, and NFL Films.
