THE PROM to Open at Connecticut Theatre Company in New Britain
The musical runs May 22–31 in New Britain.
Connecticut Theatre Company will continue its 2026 season with its production of THE PROM, featuring a book and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, a book by Bob Martin, and music by Matthew Sklar. Opening May 22 at the historic Repertory Theatre, the musical combines the humor and heart of a classic comedy with a timely message of love and acceptance.
THE PROM follows four eccentric Broadway stars in search of a new spotlight when they discover controversy surrounding a small-town high school prom. When one student simply wants to bring her girlfriend to the dance, the town becomes divided, prompting the performers to step in and champion the cause — while also seeking a bit of publicity for themselves. Their mission to make a difference ultimately sparks a heartfelt transformation for the entire community.
The cast includes Michele Abbazia, Paige Machnicz, Duane Campbell, Frederick Goff, Aiden Kowalik, Kimberly Saltzman, Susan Smith, Lucy Eddinger, Ella Ullman, Ginamarie Garabedian, Grace Hogan, Catherine Jones, Erin Leslie, Nicolette Pavain, Hesaneh, Hannah Kingsley, Zenn Langley, Cara MacKenzie, Stephen Maher, Christine McGuinness, Ashley McLeod, Brooke Owens, Ariana Pagel, Kyle Riedinger, Megan Wolfe-Pelletier, and Zayda.
Performances will take place Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. from May 22–31, 2026. The production is recommended for audiences of all ages, with the understanding that accompanying adults should be comfortable discussing the show’s themes. Tickets, starting at $26, are available now through Connecticut Theatre Company.
