TEMPEST TOSSED To Return To Casa Duse For Limited Brooklyn Run
New Place Players revival will feature eight performances in June.
New Place Players will present a limited return engagement of TEMPEST TOSSED, an adaptation of THE TEMPEST by Craig Bacon, at Casa Duse in Brooklyn.
Directed by Janina Picard, the production will run for eight performances from June 4 through June 26. The chamber adaptation incorporates live music by Flavio Gaete and movement inspired by Butoh, with the staging designed for an intimate performance environment.
The adaptation reexamines the Shakespeare text through a focused lens, including the addition of Sycorax as a speaking character, offering a new perspective on the story’s themes of justice, freedom, and reconciliation.
Cast
The cast will include Anna Bikales as Sycorax, Jacquie Bonnet and Rose Kanj as Ariel, Blake Brundy as Caliban/Ferdinand, Craig Bacon as Prospero, Flavio Gaete as Juno, and Clara Tristan as Miranda.
Creative Team
The creative team includes scenic consultant Grace Laubacher, Costume Designer Kathleen Rembish, lighting designer Ethan Feil, and music director and sound designer Flavio Gaete.

TEMPEST TOSSED will play Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m. on June 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26 at Casa Duse, located at 16 Prospect Park West in Brooklyn. Tickets are priced at $44.52 and are available online.
