Sweet and Nasty Burlesque Announces Their One Night Only Return 11/14.

The origins of Sweet and Nasty Burlesque are shrouded in mystery, soaked in whiskey, and protected by several binding legal injunctions. Their grand experiment in striptease culminated in a weekly burlesque cavalcade of fantastic proportions that ran Sunday nights on East 11th Street from June 2006 until that venue's sudden destruction by hipsters in August, 2008. Now on Sunday, November 14th, Nasty Canasta - "Brooklyn's greatest burlesque star" (The Brooklyn Paper) - brings her tassel-twirling minxes back to the Lower East Side for one night only at the Bowery Poetry Club.

"In the past few years we've bumped-and-grinded in Brooklyn, shimmied-and-shaken on Staten Island, executed complicated tassel-twirling maneuvers in Queens, and gotten lost in the Bronx on our way to shows other places," says Nasty. "But nothing will ever beat getting naked on the Lower East Side."

Since 2006 Sweet and Nasty has been adding its own unique mix of glam camp, historical fact, and blatant lies to the New York burlesque scene. Their November extravaganza will celebrate the refined talents and glittery temper tantrums of some of the most beautiful brats of burlesque - followed by a special edition of Jonny Porkpie's SHOCKS & C*CKS all-nude all-dude revue. Enjoy drinks and debauchery with two shows full of NYC's biggest burlesque stars: Sweet and Nasty begins at 10:00pm, followed by Shocks & C*cks at 11:00, all for just $12.
