THE ABSOLOUTELY LAST COMMEDIA WORKSHOP OF THE YEAR
Master teacher Stanley Allan Sherman will give an intensive Commedia dell'Arte Workshop December 28 to 31 at Pier 40, Houston Street at West Street, Manhattan. Ten students (teachers, professionals or students) will study for six hours per day.

Sherman's school, Roving Clasical Commedia University, is in its ninth year of teaching Classical Commedia dell'Arte as close to its original form (verily, yea--the 1500's and 1600's) as can presently be deduced. Still, it's as individualistic as today: students develop their personal historical Commedia dell'Arte characters and style with their own individual qualities.

Sherman is also New York's preeminent leather mask maker. His studio in Chelsea is a destination for international clowns, according to a recent article by Serena Solomon in DNAnews.
