Trevor St. John, who currently stars on "One Life to Live" as "Walker Laurence," and Tamara Tunie (Julius Caesar, Dreamgirls, also "Dr. Melinda Warner" on "Law & Order: SVU") will take part in a free reading of Missives on Tuesday, May 16th at 7 PM at the Sage Theatre.

Missives comes from San Francisco playwright, Garret Jon Groenveld; this reading marks Groenveld's NYC debut. The reading follows a successful run of the play at the Rhino in San Francisco.

CBS casting veteran and AMDA Faculty Member Jimmy Bohr directs. Bohr's credits also include numerous productions at MCC. The reading also features the talents of Ashley West, David Ryan Smith, and Andrew Calabrese. It will be presented as part of TRU's 8th Annual Play reading series.

Missives "focuses on the unlikely friendship formed between a gay white man and a straight African-American woman which is put to the test by an unexpected act of violence. The rich language and imagery runs the gamut from the joy of soap operas to the humor of serial killers, and eventually leads to the question, what is it about mistakes that we can't forgive?," state press notes. The reading is presented by Jared Cohen.

The Sage Theatre is located on the 2nd Floor of 711 Seventh Avenue (between 47th and 48th Streets). Although the reading is free, due to limited seating reservations are required by calling (212) 714-7628.
