Rehearsals are now underway for Dans der Vampieren in Belgium.

Dans der Vampieren, an adaptation of TANZ DER VAMPIRE which had planned on opening December 20th, will now be forced delay its opening until September 2010, at the earliest.

It was reported in December that, twelve years after the premiere and 10 years after its journey around the world that Jim Steinman, Michael Kunze & Roman Polanski's cult musical 'TANZ DER VAMPIRE' or as it is known in the US DANCE of the VAMPIRE would return to Vienna.

At that time the musical was looking to return to Vienna in Autumn 2009 for a limited time after a tour stop in Ronacher. DANCE of the VAMPIRE had been playing the Metronom theatre in Oberhausen.

Reports indicated that while the show will return to Vienna, it won't be going back to the Raimund Theatre where it all started.

Other productions in 2009 of 'TANZ DER VAMPIRE' are scheduled for performance in Oberhausen and Tokyo.

A US adaptation of TANZ DER VAMPIRE opened on Broadway in 2002, it starred theatre superstar Michael Crawford and while not a box office success it gained a passionate fanbase and cult status after closing in January 2003.
