USC Trojan Vision reporter Megan Telles got a chance to go visit one of Marquez Charter School's last dress rehearsals before they went off to the 2010 Musical Theater Festival in New York -- check out these awesome kids and see how they learn history lessons through song and dance!

This fall, thirty students from Marquez Charter Elementary School will bring their original musical Water and Power, an industrial strength musical about the 1830¹s labor movement, to the 2010 New York Musical Theatre Festival.

Co-written by fifth grade teacher, Jeff Lantos, Water and Power is part of a Performing History Program in which students take history from the page to the stage. These 4th-6th graders will perform the 90-minute work as both their New York debut and their homework assignment.
