Queer|Art partners with Wythe Hotel to Present 2nd Annual Queer|Art|Pride

Queer|Art, New York City's home for the creative and professional development of LGBTQ artists, has partnered with Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn to present the second annual edition of "Queer|Art|Pride." Over the course of two nights in the Wythe's underground Screening Room, Queer|Art will present three programs - QA|Pride: Live(hosted by Moe Angelos of The Five Lesbian Brothers) on June 21st; QA|Pride: Cinema (featuring a work-in-progress viewing of a new film by Rodrigo Bellot) on June 22nd, and the QA|Pride: Alumni Art Jam (hosted by The Illustrious Blacks) also on June 22nd. The diverse program features an eclectic mélange of performances, screenings, readings, and more by rising star LGBTQ artists who have graduated from New York City's celebrated Queer|Art|Mentorship program.

All events are included as part of Wythe's Pride at Wythe festivities. Wythe Hotel is located at 80 Wythe Ave. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The Screening Room at Wythe Hotel has a street entrance located on Wythe Ave. between N. 11th and N. 12th streets. All Queer|Art|Pride events are $12.

Following Pride at Wythe, on June 23rd at The Rubin Museum of Art, Queer|Art will offer a free information session for prospective applicants to the 2018-2019 Queer|Art|Mentorship program cycle: Queer|Art|Pride: Meet the Mentors (RSVP required).

Queer|Art|Pride is an annual showcase of recently completed work by alumni of the Queer|Art|Mentorship program, which provides a year-long immersion in creative and professional development for LGBTQ artists, nurturing exchange between early-career and advanced-career artists in fields of Film, Literature, Performance, Visual Art, and Curatorial Practice. Going into its eighth year, Queer|Art|Mentorship has graduated 69 Fellows, with 59 Mentors, producing a diverse and vibrant community of filmmakers, writers, performers, curators, and visual artists. The Queer|Art|Pride program at Wythe Hotel spotlights a broad range of work in each of the fields represented by these practices.

"Queer|Art|Pride" is curated by Queer|Art's Travis Chamberlain (Managing Director) and Vanessa Haroutunian (Program Coordinator).
