Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me will play Toronto's Canon Theatre from May 27 - July 2, 2006 in addition to the previously announced engagements at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco April 25 - May 21, 2006 and in Chicago at the LaSalle Bank Theatre (formerly the Shubert) July 5 - 16, 2006. Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me will open on Broadway at a Shubert theatre TBA August 10, 2006.

A humble musical salute to the cultural phenomenon that is Martin Short, Fame Becomes Me is fractured autobiography, searing show business expose and heart-rending confessional, climaxing in a giant metaphorical snowball. Backed by a versatile troupe of singer/actors and his on-stage music director Marc Shaiman, the show features Short in a tour de force performance guiding us through an improbable version of his life story in a transparent play for love and attention.

Directed by Scott Whittman, Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me is a new musical conceived by Martin Short, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman with book by Martin Short and Daniel Goldfarb (Modern Orthodox), music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Hairspray).
