Knitting Factory Welcomes FELA!'s Elasea Douglas 3/25

Elasea Douglas...Some know her as ELLA, to some as Lady E, or for formality as Ms. Douglas. Born and raised in the cultural melting pot of Queens, New York, one could say she's seen it all.... With exposure to bliss and struggles within her environment, it has allowed her to become a sophisticated yet truthful storyteller. In her lyrics, movements, conversations, comes passion behind her stories. Some call it dramatics or even over the top, but Elasea Douglas says "its simply my honest emotions that are left for the world to experience...and feel."

Elasea's album Rainbow Heart is a project that started two years ago under the creative geniuses of Elasea Douglas, Producers and Composers Perth Phillips and Jonathan Ferdinand. Rainbow Heart is a mix of Jazz, NeoSoul, R&B and House; all with an honest and inspirational message. Paying tribute to her gospel roots along with showing her funkier side, Rainbow Heart plans to appease both sides of the spectrum; Gospel in harmony with Secular.

To round out the night, Ms. Douglas will be joined by several artists who will contribute a unique perspective on her fusion of music.
