Kevin Davis to l Present ONE IN A MILLION CABARET at MITF@ATA
Performances will take place on July 9, 11 and 12 at the Sargent Theatre.
As the Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) makes its return to the New York stage, "One In A Million Cabaret" will serve as a featured event of the 2026 season. Written by award-winning composer and playwright Kevin Davis, this production arrives with five BroadwayWorld nominations-including Best Director-and will headline the festival's residency at the American Theatre of Actors (ATA) this summer. Performances will take place on July 9, 11 and 12.
"One In A Million Cabaret" centers on a group of friends who humorously discover the fragility of life, love, and faith after beating the odds and winning the lottery. The production is a unique theatrical hybrid, featuring a live band led by Davis himself on saxophone. Blending a sharp comedic book with a soulful, jazz-infused score, the show explores how sudden wealth acts as a catalyst for profound personal revelation.
The production marks a significant homecoming for Kevin Davis, an internationally acclaimed musician whose artistic journey began at Carnegie Hall at the age of 13. A former leader of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir horn section, Davis has spent decades illuminating the richness of the human experience through music and theater. His work has caught the eye of industry titans, with two-time Tony Award winner Ken Davenport calling the show "terrific" and a "thrill to see.""Kevin Davis is a master of fusing genre and narrative," said the MITF executive team. "His ability to lead a live band from the stage while navigating a complex story of faith and fortune is exactly the kind of powerhouse performance that defines the 'Festival Giant.' We are honored to feature his work during our historic relaunch."
The relaunch of the Midtown International Theatre Festival, founded by John Chatterton and executive produced in partnership with indie luminary Jay Michaels and the landmark American Theatre of Actors, transforms the three-theatre ATA complex into a massive hub of creative innovation from June 15 through July 26, 2026, coinciding with the ATA's landmark 50th Anniversary.
