Tonight on American Idol was Elimination night where one of the top 8 was at risk of being eliminated.

The night started off with the Top 8 singing Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger. There was also some video replay of the contestants teaching a song to children as part of the Ford's Movement Idol Mission.

Jimmy Iovine then reviewed the contestant's performances from last night. Most of his critiques matched those of the judges unlike last week.

Season 11 contestant Colton Dixon then performed his current single Love Has Come For Me.

After the commercial break, One Republic and Season 5 Idol Contestant and SMASH star Katherine McPhee performed If I Lose Myself, the band's new single. Judge Keith Urban then performed his song Long Hot Summer.

In no particular order, the first five people revealed to be safe were Kree Harrison, Candice Glover, Janelle Arthur, Angie Miller, and Amber Holcomb. That made the bottom three BurNell Taylor, Lazaro Arbos, and Devin Velez.

Burnell and Lazaro were revealed to be safe which meant that Devin would have to sing for the save from the judges. The judges could only use the save if the vote was unanimous. Unfortunately, it was not unanimous and he was sent home.

Next week will be another round of the top 7 singing for their spot in the final two. Tune in!
