Gamut Theatre to Open Pulitzer Prize Winning Play OUR TOWN
By: Julie Musbach
Gamut Theatre Group presents Our Town by Thornton Wilder. Thornton Wilder's Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town has been captivating and inspiring audiences for nearly a century. By deliberately chipping away at traditional theatrical devices, this play presents a humorous, touching, and intimate look at American small town life as the Gibbs and the Webb families discover, over time, they are connected in ways they never thought were possible. Through this fresh and engaging interpretation of the text, Our Town once again reminds us that nothing is quite as precious as the present moment.
Our Town opens on February 10, 2018 in the 220 - seat Select Medical Mainstage at Gamut Theatre located at 15 N. 4th Street in downtown Harrisburg. The box office and bar will open at 6:30 p.m. and the performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Following the opening night performance, a reception will be held where guests can meet and mingle with the director, cast and crew in Gamut's beautiful Capital Blue Lobby while enjoying delicious food and complimentary beer and wine supplied by Peggy's Pub.
