Famed Neurologist Attends MOLLY SWEENEY at Irish Repertory Theatre
By: Meghan Schuler
Famed neurologist and writer Dr. Oliver Sacks attended the Irish Repertory Theatre's acclaimed revival of Brian Friel's MOLLY SWEENEY. Dr. Sacks is the author of "To See or Not to See," which inspired Mr. Friel to write his three-character play about a blind woman who undergoes an operation to try to restore her sight. He is also the author of "Awakenings" and "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat."
Directed by Charlotte Moore, MOLLY SWEENEY runs through March 13 at the Irish Repertory Theatre (132 West 22nd Street): Wednesday-Saturday at 8pm; plus 3pm matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call 212-727-2737 or visit www.irishrep.org.
