Award-Winning Playwright Duncan Pflaster will guest-curate an installment of the Where Eagles Dare Short Play Lab January 9th and 10th, 2010, at Where Eagles Dare (347 W. 36th Street, 13th Floor)

There will be two programs, "Dramas" at 7pm Saturday and 2pm Sunday, and "Comedies" at 9pm Saturday and 4pm Sunday, featuring new 10-minute plays by Gabrielle Fox, Lorraine Goodman, Daniel Ajl Kitrosser, Alexander Koo, Michael Niederman, Duncan Pflaster, Jane Prendergast, Adam Samtur, Lenny Schwartz, David Slate, Oliver Thrun, Jonathan Wallace, and Meri Wallace.

The idea of the Short Play Lab is to boil playwriting down to its simplest components. Playwrights have to cast and rehearse their plays, but other production requirements are minimal, so they can concentrate on creating a memorable theatrical moment. The Lab makes no pretense to teach playwriting, but we hope the experience offers a chance to learn something.
For the audience, the Short Play Lab is a shotgun blast of new dramatic material, always keeping you off-balance. And unlike traditional theatrical evenings, if what you're watching isn't quite in line with your taste, you can console yourself that short plays are like buses - there'll be another one along in a few minutes!
