Chuck Lorre to Pen Book for 'Painted From Memory' Broadway Musical; Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello to Write New Songs!

According to the Associated Press, Chuck Lorre, creator of "Two and a Half Men" and "The Big Bang Theory" is teaming up with Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello to write a new musical based on Costello's album "Painted From Memory." Lorre would write the show's book, and Bacharach and Costello are writing additional music.

Tracks from "Painted From Memory" include "I Still Have That Other Girl", "God Give Me Strength", "This House is Empty Now", "In the Darkest Place", "What's Her Name Today?" and more.

No further details on the show have been released, but the creative team says they are aiming for Broadway.

Oscar and Grammy winning composer Bacharach has collaborated with Hal David, Carole Bayer Sager, Neil Diamond and many others. His memoir, Anyone Who Had a Heart: My Life and Music, published by Harper Collins, is available today, May 7.

Costello's first album, My Aim Is True, was recorded in 1976. He created The Attractions and toured and recorded with the group for around a decade before launching a career as a solo artist. Costello has won a Grammy and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. "Painted From Memory" is a collaboration between Costello and Bacharach and was released in 1998.

Lorre's other TV credits include Grace Under Fire, Cybill, Dharma & Greg, Roseanne and Mike & Molly.
