Children's Theatre Hosts Auditions for And Then They Came For Me 1/5

By: Jan. 05, 2011

Children's Theatre of Charlotte will hold open auditions for "And Then They Came For Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank" by James Still on Tuesday, January 4, and Wednesday, January 5, from 6:00-9:00 pm. Roles are available for two male and two female adult actors only.

Auditions will take place at ImaginOn, 300 East Seventh Street, and will consist of cold readings from the script. Actors may also be asked to perform a prepared contemporary monologue from their own repertoire.

Daytime rehearsals begin February 2. Performances will be held on weekends from March 4-20, with weekday performances March 2-25. Actors are compensated at $455 per week.

"And Then They Came For Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank" will be directed by Children's Theatre of Charlotte Core Artist Mark Sutton. The production tells the real stories of Anne Frank and Holocaust survivors Ed Silverberg and Eva Schloss. The intersecting family histories of these three young people paint a vivid picture of life before and during World War II.

Children's Theatre of Charlotte is supported, in part, with an Operating Grant from the Arts & Science Council, Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Inc. and the North Carolina Arts Council, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.
