Bway Gypsy and Choreographer Darlene Wilson Dies

Darlene Wilson, who was the assistant choreographer and original Lady of the Lake standby of Spamalot, passed away on Friday, March 2nd of cancer-related causes.

Wilson made her Broadway debut as a replacement Cassandra in Cats, and also appeared as an understudy and ensemble member of Sunset Boulevard, as a replacement Hunyak in Chicago, and as a Harem Girl in Side Show.

She served as the assistant choreographer of Side Show, The Scarlet Pimpernel (working with choreographer Casey Nicholaw) and the Flower Drum Song revival, as well as of Spamalot (again with Nicholaw).

Spamalot original cast member Steve Rosen said: "She was a wonderfully talented human being who was as compassionate and wonderful a person as she was a performer."
