Broadway's current "commander in chief", Will Ferrell concludes his rialto run in his hit comedy, You're Welcome America. A Final Night with George W Bush today, Sunday March 15th. The comic superstar isn't letting the end of his successful run spell the end of his Broadway tenure, Ferrell revealed to David Letterman on the CBS Late Show the other night that his stay on the Great White Way is far from over, actually its JUST beginning.

He serenaded the Late Show audience with a "moving" rendition of "Maria" from "West Side Story" and surprised the crowd with the "news" he'll be joining the production in the role of "Gary", oh enough from us, just watch the clip!

West Side Story will open at the Palace Theatre (1564 Broadway) on Thursday, March 19, 2009. The original Jerome Robbins choreography will be restaged by Tony Award nominee Joey McKneely (The Boy from Oz, The Life).

Late Show airs at 11:35pm on WCBS channel 2 in the tri-state area.

David Letterman marked his 25th year in late night comedy on Feb. 1, 2007, and this year also marks his 14th year as the host of the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN on CBS. After more than 4,500 late night broadcasts, he remains one of the most influential personalities in the history of television. Other than the late Johnny Carson, who hosted "The Tonight Show" for 30 years, no late night host comes near Letterman in longevity, critical praise and award recognition. Often imitated but never matched, Letterman presents, night after night, an unpredictable hour of innovative comedy.
