TV: Fidelity FutureStage Millennium Art Academy Backstage with 'IN SEARCH OF EUPHORIA'
Millennium Art Academy is represented in the Fidelity FutureStage program by the selected play, In Search Of Euphoria. We gave the students a portable FLIP video camera to give us their view of the creative process. As they were able to film themselves, the FLIP video footage allows you to see and hear the excitement and challenges of putting on a show in their own words and unique perspective.
In Search Of Euphoria playwrights, Trisha and Hector explore the journey one must make when faced with the loss of a mother and the goal of reconnecting with a father. Student actors, Yashica, Teejay, Stefan and William bring the duo's play to emotional life. In Search Of Euphoria highlights the assistant directing and stage management of Vicky. The play is also supported by the talented understudies, Hector, Trisha and Vicky, all three doing double duties in addition to their credits above.
Fidelity FutureStage enables over 600 NYC students from 10 different public schools to get a real view into the world of Broadway theater. Students learn firsthand from industry professionals about acting, playwriting, directing and all the behind-the-scenes production. They also attend Broadway shows and each student writes a 10-minute play. Ultimately, one play from each school is chosen and performed by the students at New World Stages this June.
