BWW TV: Broadway Beat Preview - Broadway's Back! Concert

By: Nov. 30, 2007

To celebrate the glory and wonder of Broadway, and to mark the end of the strike, the Great White Way's biggest and brightest packed the stage of the Marriott Marquis in a very special free public concert "Broadway's Back!" on Friday. As usual, Broadway Beat was there to capture all the excitement! Look for a full length feature on an upcoming episode of Broadway Beat, but we just COULD NOT WAIT to share some of the celebrating right away. Enjoy!

Featuring Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters, and Bob Martin (Tony Award-winning creator of The Drowsy Chaperone), cast members from nearly every Broadway show joined together in song (and in costumes) to celebrate the return of Broadway and the holiday season. Featuring a full orchestra and special song-arrangements of favorites "There's No Business (Like Show Business)" and "We Need A Little Christmas."

Broadway Beat, the popular weekly television program for and about the theatre world, right here on the web site. Broadway Beat is the premier, award-winning half hour television program covering theatre, music and performers. Each week, the show's popular and knowledgeable host, Richard Ridge, takes you behind-the-scenes for a look at the very best of New York Theatre - on Broadway, and beyond. The show always features beautiful footage shot by video veteran Bradshaw Smith. Now, in its 16th year, Broadway Beat takes you from the rehearsal studios to opening nights, including in-depth interviews with Tony Award winning stars and directors. Broadway Beat is your front row seat to all the music, all the magic, and all of the magnificent drama that is Broadway.
