Have you ever been to a performance, and wondered what everyone else is listening for? What do they focus on and what are they hearing? I ask because after sitting through a performance recently, it seems as though everyone has similar, yet different experiences. Everyone sees and hears something specific.

After a live performance, I hope, as many do I think, to talk about what I just experienced; don't we all wish to relive the moments that move us? Hence the immediate satisfaction of smart-phones and Instagram. That said, we experience live theatre, and then immediately have to talk about it. Discuss amongst yourselves.

What I find interesting about attending theatre, talking about it, poo-poo-ing what I didn't think was great, and loving what I did think was great, is that sometimes I don't have to agree with the show to like it. It does not have to thrill me, and yet it still can be good. When we are able to look at something and disagree, but still find merits in it, we are able to disagree. Lest we vilify it completely. Disagree, agree, but always discuss and keep the conversation alive.
