Antonio Banderas Will Co-Direct A CHORUS LINE in Spain; Auditions Announced!

On February 6th Antonio Banderas announced his new project: he will open the new Teatro del Soho Caixabank in Málaga, Spain, and the first show to run in it will be A CHORUS LINE. Today, Banderas, who will co-direct and co-star in the production, has announced auditions for the musical.

Two casting calls have been announced, an open one for actors with no experience in big productions and a closed one for equity actors. The second one will require the applicants to have appeared in at least two mid and big scale productions before.

They are looking for DANCERS with abilities in singing who can do ballet or jazz, and ACTORS, ACTRESSES and SINGERS with abilities in dancing and singing for all of the characters.

Applicants must contact the producers before the 10th of March, and the auditions will take place in Madrid, Málaga and Barcelona between the 22nd of March and the 10th of April.

This will be a bilingual production with texts in Spanish and songs in English.

A CHORUS LINE is a musical by Michael Bennet, James Kirkwood Jr, Nicholas Dante, Edward Kleban and Marvin Hamlisch that will arrive in Spain co-directed and choreographed by Baayork Lee, a member of the original cast and director of the last revival on Broadway.
