The Hills Musical Company's SIDE SHOW Embraces Acceptance And Uniqueness

By: Mar. 27, 2018

The Hills Musical Company's SIDE SHOW Embraces Acceptance And Uniqueness ImageThe South Australian premiere of this live theatrical musical arrives in Adelaide, hot on the heels of the hugely popular film The Greatest Showman, telling the true story of conjoined twins and famed entertainers Violet and Daisy Hilton as the starring act of a sideshow in the era of PT Barnum and the popularity of 'freak shows'.

Side Show is a remarkable musical about acceptance, love, and embracing one's uniqueness. As stars on the Orpheum Circuit, it seems that Violet and Daisy have everything they ever wanted. The one thing they lack, however, is the fulfilment of their hearts' desires. Different as they are, when it comes to matters of the heart, Daisy and Violet have the same burning questions: "Who could proudly stand beside me? Who will love me as I am?"

Side Show features soulful music, stunningly beautiful lyrics, and powerhouse show-stoppers, all from the writers of the smash hit Dreamgirls.

Adelaide audiences will experience a stunning and bold musical with infectious performances that inspire and mesmerize, led by the award-winning team of Amanda Rowe (director), Mark DeLaine (musical director) and Kerry Hauber (choreographer).

Director, Amanda Rowe says, "The musical is a timely reminder of the importance of accepting and celebrating what makes us unique, it's a true story that will touch audience's hearts."

"Side Show encapsulates what has been so beloved by The Greatest Showman film, reflecting upon the place that people who are different hold in our society and the challenges faced."

"We have gathered some of the most acclaimed and talented performers in Adelaide to deliver this compelling story that is perfectly suited to the vintage and vaudevillian Stirling Community Theatre setting"

Side Show features a large, experienced and beloved cast, led by Fiona DeLaine and Rebecca Raymond as the twins, Violet and Daisy along with other well-known, local performers.
