Qld Entertainer Lisa La Celle Spreads Sunshine South at Adelaide Fringe Festival

South-east Queensland's entertainer and comedienne, Lisa La Celle is set to spread some Queensland sunshine at Adelaide's Fringe Festival - second only to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in terms of comedic and arts calendar highlights.

The entertainer will showcase her comedy cabaret The Really Real Housewife of Surfers Paradise at the festival and aims to show southerners the decadence and dilemmas of the upper echelons of the sunshine state society.

Lisa La Celle says she is looking forward to introducing Adelaide to the trials and tribulations of her cringe worthy alter ego, Mercedes DeLuca-Jones, and her life of glamour and glory - Surfers Paradise style.

"We all know southerners enjoy a get-away to the Gold Coast to bask in the sunshine and the glamour but Mercedes will give them a taste of what it's like to live that lifestyle," Ms La Celle said.

Lisa La Celle will feature, for the first time, at the Adelaide Fringe Festival performing from 16-18 and 21-25 February at popular Adelaide nightclub La Boheme.

In the show, Mercedes offers her sage advice on marriage, motherhood, cosmetic surgery, toyboys and of course being a reality TV mega star all while exploring every avenue of her abundant assets to become the next Really Real Housewife of Surfers Paradise! Lisa La Celle says she is more than excited to be performing at one of the nation's biggest arts and comedy events.

"I'm 45-years-old, I'm a mum with two kids, I don't have time to muck around because the clock is ticking, which is why I am so happy to have received such great reviews for my first cabaret show and now to be off to Adelaide is a dream come true" Ms La Celle said.

La Celle's performance follows her sell out season at the Brisbane Powerhouse as part of the Queensland Cabaret Festival and her performances at the Sitdown Comedy Club, Brisbane. The performances received raving reviews from the likes of Katy Cotter of XS Entertainment and Meredith Walker of Blue Curtains Brisbane who found the show both entertaining and hilarious.

"La Celle's performance is entrancing, throwing herself into the character, eliciting raucous belly laughs from the audience," Katy Cotter said.

"The comedy is strong throughout thanks to the work's well-written script, peppered with pop culture references and euphemistic speak," Meredith Walker said.

Lisa La Celle is an all-round entertainer - a vocalist, comedienne and Master of Ceremonies. Her career spans 30 years covering musical theatre, cabaret and comedy.
